About Us
Pumpjack Online has provided oil and gas production allocation services to small and medium-size oil and gas operating companies for a number of years. As we performed the monthly accounting for our customers, we also looked for ways to increase the value we delivered to our customers. One path is to provide services beyond basic production. Another is to streamline the way we deliver our services to reduce cost.
As we studied our customer's operations, one fact became clear. For small to medium operators, morning reports on spreadsheets are a cost effective solution to their field data capture needs. Spreadsheets provide easy configuration, minimum training, and flexible data entry. From the viewpoint of smaller operators, specialized field data capture programs have little advantage over spreadsheets.
A quick survey of software in this area underscores another fact: analysis and reporting of production data is best done with a database system. For most products, the field data capture is an extension of the database. Great for structure, not so great for flexibility.
With these facts in hand, we built a system to parse field data spreadsheets and store the results in a database system. Many months later, Pumpjack Online was launched for automatic consolidation, analysis and reporting of both operated and non-operated operations data. Most recently, we added the capability for Drilling and AFE Management to extend the Pumpjack Online from spud to plug.
Pumpjack Online has benefited greatly from a consistent operational strategy and the continuity of an excellent staff, but most of all from the loyal support of our customers. Oscar Hammerstein II wrote "If you become a teacher, by your pupils you'll be taught." As purveyors of software and services, we have been taught well by our customers. For this instruction we are most grateful.
